Clinical Research Studies

Medical science is continually evolving due to clinical research studies. Ideas for clinical trials often originate in a laboratory. After laboratory testing, the most promising experimental treatments are moved into clinical trials where more information is gained about the treatment’s risks and effectiveness. By testing new drugs, procedures, or devices, new medical standards are established and new hope is given to patients who may have previously had less promising options. Without clinical trials, medical research could not move forward.

Take an Active Role in Your Care

By taking an active role in your care and deciding to participate in a clinical trial, you may feel as if you have more control over your situation. This feeling usually contributes to a more positive outlook and better quality of life.

Access to Newest Treatments

You will have access to treatments before they are available to the general public. This means you may be among the first to benefit from the latest cutting-edge research as it moves out of laboratories and into doctors’ hands.

Access to Best Doctors

You will receive regular and careful attention from top doctors and/or scientists. Because of this close monitoring, side effects (if present) are immediately noticed and tended to.

Contribute to Medical Research

The medical research and treatments available today are largely due to previous clinical trial participants. By taking part in clinical trials, you are personally contributing to the process of improving medical care for everyone. Even if you don’t specifically benefit from the clinical trial you participate in, the information gained can help others and will contribute to medical research.

Georgia Psychiatric Consultants are Leaders in Clinical Research Studies

At Georgia Psychiatric Consultants we work with several pharmaceutical companies to develop new medications that will be used to treat mental disorders in the future. Our clinical research trials involve the use of investigational medicines for a variety of mental disorders. If you choose to take part in one of our studies, you will receive an evaluation by a board certified psychiatrist, necessary follow-up visits, investigational drug, and physical and laboratory testing at no cost to you. Many of our studies also offer financial compensation for your time.

If you would like to learn more about participating in one of our clinical studies, please fill out our online form or call us at 678.705.8166, and a member of our staff will contact you.
